The Role

As a Controller at Swan Bitcoin, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial health of our organization. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of at least 7-10 years of hands-on experience in financial management, accounting and audit. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to support business objectives.

Your responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations to ensure accurate bookkeeping in compliance with US GAAP accounting standards.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and accruals, with the objective of ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare financial statements and other accounting disclosures to ensure compliance with key standards such as ASC 606, ASC 718, and ASC 842.
• Analyze financial reports to provide timely and insightful recommendations to Swan leadership.
• Partner closely with third parties to manage annual audits, filings, taxes, and other corporate accounting activities.
• Assist in the development and documentation of robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial reporting completeness and accuracy.
• Evaluate, design, and implement financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency.

Skills and experience that will help you succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration. CPA designation preferred.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Auditor with at least 7-10 years of professional accounting/audit experience - Big 4 or large national public accounting experience is a plus.
• Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in financial management software. Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment.
